Story

Urgent appeal after homeless charity burgled and vandalized

We were all heartbroken and reduced to tears to turn up at our unit to find it broken into and vandalized.

Most of our stores of vital clothing, shoes, food, toiletries and other household items have been taken. We just can’t believe people would do such a cruel thing.

"More than 400 families will be affected following the burglary on Friday, it's going to have a huge impact on our families. One family we needed to get food to yesterday, but we didn't have any". Hope For Food Founder, Claire Matthews

Now we must start again, to rebuild, and find a way to continue to support the most vulnerable people that rely on our support.

We’re lucky to have a wonderful community around us that will donate items to help us restock, and we will also need to raise funds to replace whatever isn’t donated.

We now need your support more than ever .... Thank you

About Hope For Food:

Hope for Food is a local charity based in Bournemouth set up and run entirely by Volunteers. The organisation was founded by Claire Matthews in 2012 with the aim of providing life’s basic essentials on a day to day basis to people in need of help due to the current economic climate.

We rely on clothing and food donations to supply over 300 hot meals and drinks to the local homeless community each and every week. We also help many local families who are living in crisis by supplying food parcels, clothing and furniture.
