We are the Charlton Road Book Group in Bristol. One of our members has a daughter, Violet, who has been diagnosed with PKAN, a life-limiting neurological disease that affects fewer than three people in a million.

We wanted to do something to support Violet and her family so, on Saturday 7 November, we will be doing a sponsored row: one mile for each of the 30 books we have read since our first meeting. All money we raise will go to support Violet’s ongoing medical needs.
