Story

I'm raising money for the extremely needy families in the village of Mazinga in Malawi. I support a local charity called the Hope Foundation, run by my friend Kondwani Tchauya. While I have been trying to support them a little over the past 3 years, when I can afford to, it's really just come to my attention how absolutely destitute the families in his village are. I can't ignore it, I have to do something.

I learned that one family, in particular, have literally nothing and they all sleep on the stone floor, without mosquito nets. Imagine - no beds, mattresses, pillows, chairs, bedding! Apparently there are many families in the same circumstances.

There are supporters who regularly answer Kondwani's FB requests for food, medicine, clothes and school items. He runs a school for the local children, as well as a feeding scheme. But it's all intermittent and he does this fundraising on his phone, without power at his home. They have a communal generator somewhere so that he can charge his phone. He takes sick people to town to hospital on his motorbike and his own family have their own challenges too. I highly respect this man for everything he does for his community. And everything he does is reported on Facebook for donors to see where their contributions went.

These families literally have nothing. I can't bear to see them without furniture, bedding, utensils and most importantly, mosquito nets to prevent malaria, which is rife there.

Please consider donating just a bit, so we can provide the most basic things - starting with the mats and nets. Thank you!!
