Story
12 years ago three finely tuned athletes embarked on an epic journey, the likes of which the world had never seen. They set records, battled mother nature and changed the world for everyone they met...
Shortly after that Rich convinced Aaron and Chuck to join him on a charity cycle ride from John O’Groats to Lands' End. They hit the road for 15 days, used a lot of Sudocrem (other creams are available), and with only 5 working knees, 2.5 properly working bikes, and only half of the maps they actually needed, cycled nearly 1000 miles raising thousands for charity.
Over the next decade the pain and memories receded and Rich slowly dropped out of the top 50 of Aaron's Assassination List. Now, they have decided it's time to hit the road again.
This time they are going international with a ride from England to Spain!
Starting in Plymouth, they will pedal onto the ferry (what, you really thought they were gonna pedal across the channel!) for the short trip to Roscoff. From here they will make their way down the West coast of France going through the likes of Morlaix, Nante, La Rochelle, Bordeaux and Biaritz before crossing into Spain at Hendaye.
Their adventurist (aka mid-life crisis) spirit will see not much training, very little planning and no support vehicles prepping the way. Accommodation will be organised en-route. They will travel lite with eyes only for the road ahead (in fact normally trails and tracks), good food, perhaps some local wine and with the intent to raise as much money for some amazing Hospices, as possible.
This is a collaborative fundraiser across the four hospices with Aaron, Chuck and Rich, who are all actively working for Hospices. Aaron works for three Hospices as a part of a three-hospice partnership across Rowcroft Hospice, Torbay; St Richard's Hospice, Worcester; and St Luke's Hospice, Plymouth. We also work with many other Hospices but Hospiscare, Exeter, is also close to our hearts, who has also provided such wonderful support to us and so many others in the recent past.
