We are a team of Housing Officers who specialise in the prevention of debt and rent arrears, with an overall objective of preventing homelessness due to debt.

As part of our daily work, we come across many families and individuals who are experiencing genuine financial hardship for any number of reasons; Welfare Reforms, Zero Hours Contracts, job-loss, increased living expenses etc.

Batley Food Bank provide food parcels, toiletries, basic essentials and, occasionally gas & electricity tokens, to those most in need. They have never turned down a referral from our team, even though their stocks are running very low.

Batley Food Bank is staffed entirely by volunteers, and relies on donations from local retailers and individuals. Their service directly benefits people living in Kirklees and without them, many would find themselves hungry and without basics.

We would like to raise money to donate to Batley Food Bank and will be walking Pen-Y-Ghent (one of the Three Peaks) on 30th June 2018.
