Weʼve raised £4,260 to Raise funds for MacMillan as well as significant accommodation costs for Howard and his family.
- Market Rasen, UK
- Funded on Saturday, 26th January 2019
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Howard Belt, everyone’s favourite Sales Executive, his wife Cerri and their 3 young children are facing Cerri’s battle against cancer, together. They have the support of family, friends and also Howard’s colleague’s at Duckworth.
We are doing everything we can to help the Belt family through this difficult time. You don’t realise the hidden costs involved with such specialist medical care until you are going through it. Cerri will shortly be undergoing a lengthy treatment at The Christie in Manchester which means that Howard will need to find accommodation local to the hospital to allow him and his children to be at Cerri’s side giving her all the support she needs.
Colleagues at Duckworth have decided to take to their bikes and boots to raise funds for Duckworth’s chosen charity MacMillan Cancer Support and also for some of the significant costs the Belt family will incur. Howard's colleagues have organised a Sponsored Ride/Sportive and Woodland Walk open to staff, customers and friends. MacMillan Cancer Support is a charity that do wonderful work supporting families such as Howard and Cerri’s from initial diagnosis and on through their treatment.
You are invited to join us on at 9am on Sunday 28th October for this supported ride or perhaps you’d prefer to let the Duckworth Team put in your miles for you by sponsoring them. Either way, we'd hugely appreciate any donations towards our goal.
The Market Rasen showroom is perfectly placed on the edge of the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds for a fairly easy and scenic 10 mile cycle route for beginners and families as well as a more testing 35 mile ride taking in the beast of Mansgate Hill for more of a challenge for the Duckworth Team.
Routes are all ‘on road’ but suitable for hybrids and MTB’s as well as road bikes. Refreshments will be provided at the finish, and also at around the half way point of the 35 mile ride. Mechanical support and stewards will be available on the routes on the day to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable ride.
For those who prefer more sedate Sunday pursuits, we offer a 2.5 mile group walk around the local Willingham Woods.
Cycling - Entry is £20 for the 35 mile ride (over 14’s only)
Entry is £10 for over 16’s (£3.00 for under 16’s) on the 10 mile route
Walk - £2.50 per person.
Even if you would prefer not to take part in the cycling or walking, we’d hugely appreciate any donations to this cause.
More details will follow on timings once we have your email address and requirements.
Please send a comment with your name, email address and, if you'd like to join us for the ride, how many entries you need for each distance, so we can organise numbers for the day.
Thank you for your kind donation.
