Story

Over two days in May, the 35 strong Howden Markets team from Howden Group, will be in Northern Spain, walking the last 70 km of the Camino Frances an ancient pilgrimage also known as the Way of St James, starting at Palas de Rei and ending at the Cathedral in Santiago de Compostela. Coinciding with the Howden Group just giving month, our aim is to raise £50,000 for our chosen charity Wilfrid's House, a charity specialising in mental health.

Through confidential, 1:1 Psychotherapy or Counselling, Wilfrid's House is able to help people cope with life's curve balls. From stress and anxiety or relationship breakdowns right through to grief, or coping with the aftermath of childhood abuse, their team of multidisciplinary volunteers are here to help. The charity's educational Mental Health programmes help its volunteers and pastoral staff in schools to better support children, teens and adults through difficult situations such as bereavement, eating disorders or sexual abuse. Finally, Wilfrid's House works with Heads of schools and their pastoral teams, supporting them to build a stronger, more resilient community that enables good mental health and knows what to do when somebody needs help.

Appreciating the number of donation requests you receive, Howden Markets would be grateful for any kind of donation to help us reach our £50,000 target, a figure that would represent 25% of their annual fund-raising budget, therefore making a huge difference to the charity and more importantly those suffering from mental health, a condition that's sadly on the rise.

Best Wishes,

Howden Markets
