Don't have time to donate right now?
Story
On Friday 29th October, Luke, Shanice, Jade and I will be sleeping in the car park of our Branch. We won't have any shelter but neither do homeless people and that's the point. We want to raise as much money as possible to truly make a difference in our local Community.
Halfords have kindly supported us in this incredibly worthy cause. We look forward to watching the donations come in and thank you in advance for your generous support.
Petrus Step Up works in partnership with the Bond Board, a charity that prevents homelessness by assisting people to secure and maintain homes in the private rented sector and provides support to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
The aim of Step up Rochdale is to work in a way that gets homeless people off the street quickly. Step up Rochdale provides access to various kinds of accommodation and ongoing support using our own accommodation services or other services in the community.
Petrus Step Up consists of a range of services based at Petrus Hub providing one to one assessment, advice and advocacy and a range of structured activities, short-term outreach support to make sure people are empowered and engaged in a way that means they do not return to the street.
Petrus Step Up currently:
•Provides practical support in the form of breakfast, clothing, laundry and showering facilities to 100 people per week.
•Supports over 1,000 individuals each year to make changes in their lives which will help them to move forward.
•Employs 12 staff.
•Provides opportunities to a wide range of volunteers.
