We're a band from Brighton called Howland. We have been looking for a break for just over a year and feel like we are in a good momentum at the moment. We've been given the opportunity to play in many cities across the UK, including Leeds, London, Cardiff and most recently, Liverpool.
Whilst we were in Liverpool, we were staying at a friend of ours which is quite far out from the city centre and due to the amount of gear we had (guitars, amps, drums and pedals etc.) it was arranged that we would leave the gear in the cellar of a bar which was close to the venue so we could go out and enjoy the various bars and sights of such a wonderful city that we had wanted to visit for so long.
Everything went fine, we drank a little more than we should have done (naturally) and went to sleep, as happy as anything. We woke up and made our way to the bar to grab our gear and jump on the coach to go back to the South Coast, but when we arrived at the bar, we realised something was wrong as there was police tape and some very nervous looking staff. They explained that the bar had been broken into through the cellar (which is certainly no easy feat) and the perpetrators had made off with the 3 guitars we had with us. As you can guess, we were devastated and relatively speechless. It became more and more apparent to us that we would almost definitely never retrieve these instruments which meant more to us than you could ever imagine.
