    Story

    Hello

We have started this fundraising page to try and help keep our centre running. At the time of writing this we find we are ineligible for any grants from the government. However we will keep applying and fingers crossed we will be successful at some point. It costs approximately £11,500 to run the centre each month, so everything that is raised will be gratefully received.

We run over 120 classes a week, Yoga, Pilates, Art, Ballet, Tap, Language, Art, 11+ tutoring, childrens mum & baby classes, to name but a few. These classes are not only peoples businesses but also offer a social aspect too, classes help to reduce loneliness and promote positive mental health and well being. The centre itself is a registered charity, and all of our income generated from room rentals, go back into our centre to pay for running costs, gas, electricity, water, waste, staff wages. We are a non profit making scheme which means we cant hold large reserves of cash that can be used in a time of crisis. Now more than ever we need your help. We need to raise funds so that we can keep our centre running. All of our classes have obviously cancelled due to the Cov_19 crisis, which means quite simply, with no money coming in we now find ourselves in a crisis. We cannot keep the centre running without generating some income. Many small businesses will lose their income as they wont be able to use the centre, and hundreds of people will be without their classes and social aspect. Popsy's Coffee Shop is also situated inside the centre, Popsy's have created a lovely environment for people to meet up and enjoy light refreshments and is the only place on Hoylake Prom where you can get something to eat and drink. With no centre there will also be no Popsy's. Hoylake has so much to lose by the centre closing, Please help us keep the centre open. For every £20 donated we can offer you a free tea, coffee or soft drink at Popsy's if we can re-open. We at the centre realise there are difficult times ahead for everyone, however we ask you in these difficult times to dig deep and help us. Thank you for reading

We live just around the corner and regularly use the community centre. It's a credit to our community and would it would be detrimental to everyone who lives here if it was to go. Good luck xx
