I've raised £20000 to analyse and test hydroponics products for harmful plant growth regulators.

People should have the right to use products for consumable crops, in the knowledge that what they use does not contain potentially carcinogenic chemicals.
The UK hydroponics industry has no regulatory body to minimise the risk of gardeners using potentially harmful products.
The NPK Live podcast proposes to evaluate the products and report the findings publicly for gardeners to make informed decisions on what they use.
We propose that the nutrient manufacturers put money towards their products for an independent lab to analyse and report the results. The companies that can't afford to donate or are unwilling, we will ask wholesalers and end consumers to put money towards the testing of the products.
The goal is to analyse and test all products for harmful Plant Growth Regulators (PGRS) with a view to educating the end consumers to make conscientious decisions.
Procedure:
1) The nutrient companies will not be allowed to send their products for testing. Instead the sample will be taken from a random stockist around the country and sent to the analytical lab.
2) This is a not-for-profit exercise. Any money donated will be spent on product analysis and receipts for the analysis/postage/product will be scanned and posted online.
We're open to ideas and thoughts on this approach to help design a better test or to put contingencies in place to make the project more transparent and open.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for donating if you wish to support our project.
