Story

A tragedy that happened near my home town. 79 dead with the fear of that number rising, 180 injured (23 are children) and many people missing – so far the number has not been announced.

The Greeks who live in London with the cooperation with the Greeks that are working at the Imperial hospital are gathering food and basic needs items to help the victims of the wildfires in Attica. They are collecting emergency supplies such as: clothes for adults and children, underwear, socks, shoes, medicines (antiseptics and most importantly for burns), sanitary pads, nappies, toothbrushes, toothpaste, tin food. However, from what I read from the news the basic need at the moment is the medicines but of course anything is welcome.

This page is to raise money to buy medicines and emergency supplies with the hope the first batch to be delivered to the St. Mary's collection point by Friday (27/7).

While I was away on holidays the medical supplies were delivered. I would like to thank everyone who contributed.

So far we’ve managed to collect £265, which is amazing! Thanks everyone who has contributed so far! With this amount I will order 300 Euros worth of medical supplies. I will place the order in the evening, so if you wish to donate anything further, please, do so by 5pm today.

Thanks everyone for the support! I'm deeply touched by your response. An update on the progress. We were unable to get the medical supplies we needed from the pharmacies in the area. But I have are great news to share. I have very dear friends in Athens who have a pharmacy and they have offered to provide a list with items we can buy with preferential prices. Watch this space as very soon we will have the list on how we are going to help. About the clothes that you have brought, I will keep them and wait for the next collection from London.
