Story

Felix

Felix is 14 years old . In sept 2022 , when he was 12 he was diagnosed with a 5cm tumour . He underwent a 10 hour brain operation to try to remove the tumour unfortunately the tumour is attached to his brain stem so they could only get so much of it . He spent 2 months in hospital , he had to have a shunt fitted and he developed posterior fossa syndrome, he stopped talking 3 days after his surgery , he had major right sided weakness.

He left Leeds general in November 2022 , he began his rehabilitation and started to improve. By February 2023 he was walking with a stick . Unfortunately his routine 3 month mri showed his tumour had grown and he was booked in for another major brain op in May 2023 . Which again lasted over 10 hours . Unfortunately they could only get the bit which had grown back . This second op has meant Felix cannot walk or use his left hand . Felix spent another 31/2 months in Leeds general. Both operations have left him with double vision and his is now registered visually impaired.

He is now living more or less in his living room . He has been having chemotherapy since June 2023 and has until February 2025 to have chemotherapy. He’s having lots of physiotherapy , he has home tutoring as he’s too fatigued to go to school . He still cannot walk yet but he’s showing slow progress. We have to hope the chemo is doing its job .

Felix lives with his mum and his older brother . Unfortunately Felix lost his dad to cancer 6 years ago . He’s certainly been through it . On saying that he is a complete worrier and is so determined to do his therapy all with a smile on his face .

lets get Felix a holiday of a lifetime with his familly.
