Hi, we're Jooles and Ian. During the heavy rainfall of January 2024, our Nottinghamshire home was severely damaged by flooding.

We live here with our two children and two cats. Jooles has been in this house since 2009 but have never seen anything like this.

There's been 18cm of dirty flood water in our home.

The house has suffered a lot of damage... Our washing machine has been destroyed and our kitchen cabinets have soaked up river water and sewage. We're also going to need to replaster and redecorate.

We're going to need dehumidifiers, wet + dry vacuums and more too.

We're unable to get home insurance because we live near the river and we have no savings because we're saving up to row across the Atlantic Ocean, raising money for charity.

The flooding has left us unable to operate our Airbnb and aerobics classes, leading to more lost income.
