I've raised £3000 to help fund the send off for Ian Macdonald

On Wednesday 24th February we tragically lost our beloved Dad, Ian Macdonald, in a car accident. He leaves behind his partner Teresa, their sons Jago and Kai, and his daughter, Gala. As a family we are still in a state of shock and disbelief, and have been left with a huge void in our lives. We know this loss will also be deeply felt by our entire family, friends and the music community.
The funeral will be held on Monday 29th March but under current COVID restrictions numbers attending must be strictly limited. This has been very difficult for us to accept and consequently the service will also be 'live streamed' to enable other loved ones to attend virtually. Beforehand, there will be a funeral procession driving through Stratton, Bude and the local coastline giving friends and neighbours the chance to say their farewells. In the summer, once restrictions are lifted, we are planning a festival-inspired ‘Celebration of Life’ event with live music to honour his memory.
Our dad worked his whole life as a professional musician but due to the pandemic was unable to earn a living through his music during the past year and as a result he leaves little in the way of savings. As soul mates, Ian and Teresa shared 27 years together in a loving partnership but because they never married, Teresa is not entitled to any financial support as his widow.
The sudden and premature nature of his passing has found us unprepared and without a funeral plan or funds to cover all the costs of his memorial - hence this appeal. Any contribution you can make to help us give dad the best send off we can at this most challenging time will be greatly appreciated.
