Story
We are holding a memorial/charity football match in memory of Ian Nash
15/11/1953 - 15/08/2023
Ian was diagnosed with and bravely battled MDS (Myelodysplastic syndrome) - a rare form of blood cancer. He bravely decided to take up the option of undergoing a stem cell transplant to try and help cure this disease but unfortunately he suffered complications as part of the process and sadly passed away. This is to try and raise as much money as possible for 2 great causes to help support other patients and families who are going through this, help fund research and also support and fund the wonderful project of people signing up and becoming doner's to help people in need like Ian.
We also want to raise awareness of this disease and want to encourage everyone to give blood and join the stem cell/bone marrow register (Anthony Nolan). Ian needed a lot of blood transfusions as part of his treatments for MDS and these came from the generosity of people donating blood which meant he could spend more time with his family.
You can find out information and sign up to give blood here - www.blood.co.uk/
