Story

The aim of the Amar La Tierra podcast is to tell the positive stories underway on Ibiza, Formentera, Minorca and Mallorca that Love the earth of all four island and work together as a community to create change and directly tackle climate change.

Our wish is to document the knowledge of the Balearic farming community as well farmers arrriving fresh to share their learnings in the world of Regenerative Agriculture.

In the late 1970´s for example, Ibiza´s farmers left their land to work in tourism. Much of the land was abandoned and the earth became desertified meaning that only 3.6% of the food consumed on the island is actually grown here.

In the last decade, many Regenerative farms, projects and practices have sprung up and begun to rectify this situation, but there is still a long way to go to heal the beautiful Red soil which if achieved, would be the answer to so many of the islands ecological problems but also globally the issues we face due to climate change.

We are now three months old but we ened to help to keep going and and to share the joy of the success stories and work being done to Rebirth the land but also shed light on the work that still needs to be done and help highlight the ways in which we can work and already are working together to create a Regenerative community and improve the soil health of Ibiza.

Our first episode went live at the end of June 2022 on summer solstice and we have a final 5 episodes planned this series to Reset the narrative of what each island is known & Loved for.
