Story
If you have found your way to this page, then you are most likely someone who has met or felt inspired by Idris Tawfiq.
Idris was an extraordinary man, with a special warmth, who touched the hearts of those he encountered. People who were fortunate enough to have met him were drawn to his kindness and humility.
In his life, Idris travelled far and wide, articulating his conversion journey from a Roman Catholic priest at the Vatican City, to a life as a pious Muslim.
His story enlightened those that he came across during his travels. His character, knowledge and wisdom inspired friends, family and even those he never got to meet. In February 2016, we were all disheartened to learn of Idris' illness and untimely passing.
Just like the many great scholars of British Islam, Idris was provided a burial at the Brookwood Cemetery in Surrey. However, sadly, his grave remains unmarked, making it impossible for people to find it when they come to give their prayers and respect.
The purpose of this campaign is to raise funds for a headstone, providing a lasting memory of our beautiful brother, Idris. We would like to provide Idris with a headstone, so that others can identify his grave and offer their prayers, when they visit Brookwood Cemetery.
We ask for you to please donate what you can and share this page with others. Thank you for your kindness and generosity. May Allah reward you in this life and in the hereafter, ameen.
