Story
As events in Ukraine unfold, the humanitarian crisis deepens. Ukraine’s people and communities are in desperate need of help. Kent Help for Ukraine (KHFU) has been established by a group of volunteers, led by Peter Ireland (of Bigjigs Toys) and Dan File (Elham Primary School), and is based in Folkestone, Kent.
Watch this video to discover how an idea, discussed at the school gates one morning, turned into the vast effort that is seen today. From loading lorries with pallets of food, medicine, sanitary and construction items, to organising initiatives in local schools to raise money and drive donations and gifts through ‘Bags of Love’, the team of volunteers has certainly made a difference.
After leaving the donation point in Folkestone, Kent, the lorries make their way across Europe and into Ukraine. With no place to safely call home, KHFU is delivering aid to vulnerable children and their families in hospitals, orphanages and local communities.
How can you help?
Thanks to the generosity of businesses and local communities, KHFU has been able to stock and send 17 lorries into Ukraine. All donations on this JustGiving page will go towards the cost of hiring lorries and purchasing pallets of supplies.

2 years ago22/06/2022 Lorry #18 has made it through to Ukraine safely. It was filled with essential supplies and outdoor toys. We also reached our initial target of 1,000 bags of love! That is a fantastic achievement, and just the start - thank you to everyone who made that possible. Thank you too, to everyone who has so far contributed in any way to this cause - it is only through people's kindness that we can continue to make this happen. Please continue to spread the word, pack your bags of love, fundraise and donate. We are making a difference!
