    Story

This is part 2 of the fundraising campaign, part 1 ended with a fantastic total of £1,280 towards the £10,000 we need.

In 2016 my mother passed away, she was the first person to teach me to write my name, to count to 100, to learn my vowels, on a dusty floor, because she could not afford to send me to kindergarten. She was determined to make sure I was as educated as those children in kindergarten when I started school.

After she passed, my wife Charlotte, and I wanted to create something in her memory that would benefit the community of the village and surrounding area in Mulala, Arusha, Tanzania where I grew up. Most of the children in this area do not have access to academic books.

Imagine Book has been created to build facilities to enable a reading culture to those communities where books are not accessible.

Someone once said "If you want to hide any truth from most Africans, just put it in writing."

We do not like this quote and want to make sure that any stigma associated with not being able to read or not being educated in the village I come from is dispelled with good quality facilities and resources.
