As we all journey through life, sometimes some pretty awful things get thrown at us. Its 100% understandable to struggle when the bad bits come about but its 110% okay to accept help. Today In Scotland the amount of cases of rape and sexual assault is at an all time high. To the people who have been affected by sexual violence finding help can be difficult enough, and that's before you even have to wait what feels like a lifetime on a waiting list which proves difficult in itself. When I found myself in this situation, seeking help but struggling to obtain it, I knew there must be more that could be done. Currently there are no reliable helplines for outside the hours that Rape Crisis Operates, leaving survivors lost and feeling pretty helpless. Most people find that when they struggle with difficult thoughts and feelings that night times feel a million times worse, and sadly enough this is when most help centres and phone lines do not operate. I'd love to set up a safe space for people who have been affected by an act of sexual violence outwith the hours of operation. The money raised would help me set up a helpline which would be accessible for anyone over the age of 13 who feels they need support/advice or just a listening ear while healing from assault. So many people feel they need to suffer in silence but there is help out there but not at all times, I'd love to be part of the solution to that. Stay Strong
