I'm raising £740 to support educational STEAM based project 'Unseen Worlds'

Story

Our new project, Unseen Worlds, invites children to look closer at the world around them—especially the parts we can’t normally see. Designed for young people who are unable to attend their school’s residential camp, this project offers them a chance to step outside, slow down, and connect with the hidden life beneath their feet.

At Immortal Bloom, we believe that every child deserves access to creative and meaningful learning, regardless of background. That’s why Unseen Worlds specifically supports young people who, for whatever reason, may not be able to attend school trips; including young people who are neurodivergent and/or disabled . By offering schools an inclusive, enriching alternative that combines science, nature, and art, this creates space for observation and imagination, we aim to nurture confidence, curiosity, and connection.

We require funding to support a family day event, held in the heart of Sowerby Bridge community. Where we will can supply equipment and materials, transport and free lunch for up to 86 pupils out of school term time, and invite the wider community to join us in investigating the natural world around us and translating those observations into craft with recycled and repurposed materials, demonstrating circular making practices.

Our students will examine life unseen beneath their feet using pocket microscopes, encouraging them to investigate the wonders in nature.

In the classroom, they will learn digital manipulation to translate their observations into sculpture, photography, and clay works which will be exhibited and used in their own sculptural garden at Ryburn valley high school in September.

Your support directly funds:

🚍 £5: A young persons seat on a community bus

🍽️ £10: A nutritious lunch and transport

🎨 £20: Full participation – transport, meal, and creative materials

Our event will help strengthen community connections while promoting sustainability in cultural spaces, supporting local cultural venues and adopting a STEAM approach which uses arts and creativity to inspire science learning and scientific observations to inspire creativity

We understand that times are tough at the minute which is why any spare bob, £1 or £2 will be greatly appreciated as we reach this goal and as such will keep all beneficiaries updated on the progress of new project via our socials.

What people say about us:

“The children enjoyed reusing the plastic bottles and creating sea creatures. My son, who finds it difficult to engage with others, really enjoyed learning about deep-sea creatures and building them using unusual materials. Thank you to Immortal Bloom for providing such a great opportunity for him.” Emma, parent.
