After passionately scouting for 9 years, I have been incredibly lucky to be selected to represent the UK at the World Scout Jamboree in 2019 at the Summit Betchel Family National Scout Reserve in West Virginia, USA.

In order to get a place, I had to go on a selection camp amongst 100 other young people from Staffordshire. For me to take part in this once in a lifetime opportunity I have to raise £3,700! The majority of this cost will fund my attendance, whilst a small part will allow other scouts from less fortunate countries across the world to attend the jamboree.

A jamboree is truly a once in a lifetime event that allows scouts from all across the globe to gather together to form new friendships and gain new knowledge! They only take place every 4 years, and often have around 40,000 participants, thus being a higher number than the olympics!!

Between now and July 2019, I will be fundraising alongside the several other young people selected from my district, as well as doing my own individual fundraising such as a sponsored 3 day walk in April 2018, and Cake Sales, Raffles e.t.c, so stay tuned!
