After six weeks of searching for the right words, it is with profound sadness and inconsolable grief that we announce the unexpected passing of our beautiful son, brother and grandson, George Barnaby Dendle, on 2nd May 2026 whilst living in New York City.

George was a beacon of light and love for everyone he met in his short, successful life. He was a genius at everything he participated in - a rising star in FX trading, a computer whizz and a competitive ski racer and coach who found peace in the mountains.

George’s infectious, cheeky smile and his boundless energy lit up every space he entered, and so many of his friends, young and old, have benefited from George’s big heart, selfless love and kindness. Although he enjoyed the popularity that his personality brought, he made it his mission to encourage and lift up anyone who was struggling or unhappy.

His unique ability to unite and bring together friends and colleagues had a huge impact on others and will remain George’s greatest and proudest legacy.

Following George’s untimely death, we have become aware of how difficult it can be for young individuals to know what to do or who to contact when they are seriously worried about a friend’s mental health, in fear of betraying their trust.

In light of this we are raising funds for George’s sister Mollie to start a charity. We hope for the charity to act as an anonymous hotline to share concerns about someone who is showing signs of being at risk from suicide. The charity would confidentially alert family or a responsible individual on your behalf.

Donations will be used to fund research, legal guidance and the development of a charity pilot in George’s memory.

We ask that if anyone would like to fundraise in George’s memory they consider supporting getting this cause off the ground.

If, for any reason it is not possible to establish the charity, all funds will be donated to mental health and suicide prevention organisations in George’s memory.
