Hi all!
As some of you may know my beautiful mum passed away in February very unexpectedly. mum suffered from severe COPD and everyday was a struggle for her but she never let anything stop her. she looked after jess everyday and done whatever she could for her no matter how rubbish she was feeling. After going to hers for dinner the night before (a beautiful roast i may add) i got a phone call on the Tuesday morning whilst I was at work from Joe saying they were doing CPR on ur mum. My world shattered. I was numb and I broke down. When I arrived at the house the paramedics were there trying to get her heart started which took over 20 minutes to do. she was rushed to ITU where she was sedated. 2 long days passed and on the Thursday we got the dreaded news that mum has suffered a hypoxic brain injury and she wouldn't wake up from it and there was nothing more they could do. We got given a couple of hours to get all family there ready for the moment they turned off the machines. Mum had one wish in life and that was to be baptised. Dad and i asked if they could happen and it did. we managed to get her baptised by her hospital bed surrounded by the people she loved the most. The moment came where we had to say to turn off the machines. Dad was amazing throughout. from the moment they turned off the machines I held mums had till her final breath.
she wasn't just a mum to me but my best friend too. she was taken far to early.
ITU staff were amazing throughout, so im here trying to raise money for the ITU at Wexham Park Hospital by doing a sponsored weight loss. my goal is to lose at least 5 stone by the end of march to help support ITU at wexham so they can continue their amazing work to help others just like mum In their final days or to get through what they are induring to come out the other side.
