Story

Tommo, born on the first of February 1967 as Andrew Paul Thomas a real character who will be missed sorely by many but mostly his loving and devoted wife Donna and son Cian wyn

Andrew was a proud Welsh radio presenter, He was also a familiar voice as the publisher at Parc y Scarlets.

He was brought up in Cardigan and left school as soon as he found the chance taking on a number of jobs including a postman, holding discos in Cardigan and Spain, breaking graves, and working in a butcher's shop.

He presented the breakfast show at Nation Broadcasting stations in Carmarthenshire, including Radio Carmarthenshire, Radio Pembrokeshire and Radio Ceredigion. In 2011 it won the Radio Presenter of the Year award for stations serving up to 300,000 people.

He joined BBC Radio Cymru in 2014 with a show from 2 to 5pm Monday to Thursday. In February 2018, he announced that he would be leaving Radio Cymru and returning to Nation to present a new program between 11am and 3pm. He presented his last Radio Cymru show on Thursday, 29 March 2018. He stopped presenting on Nation stations in 2019.

A day before his death he announced on Twitter that he was to return to radio with a Sunday evening show between 21:00 and 22:00 on Radio Pembrokeshire and Radio Carmarthenshire.

If you ask anybody about “Tommo” each would have their own individual story to tell about how they knew him whether it be through the radio, Scarlets, one of his famous disco’s, football, a member of family or even just a passer by he would never go unnoticed.
