Story

On the 10th of May 2022 my beautiful cousin Cheryl Lawie (was Pearce) lost her battle with cancer aged 41.

Cheryl was a hard working, determined, incredibly strong woman with a dry sense of humour. she spent a lot of her life caring for others, and loved dogs seemingly more than people!

Cheryl fought throat cancer in 2020 into 2021, she hadn't been in remission too long when she fell ill again in march of 2022.

Cheryl was diagnosed with terminal bone cancer on the april the 8th 2022, her one wish before she passed was to marry her wonderful boyfriend Shaun Lawie. On the 26th of April at St Michaels hospice there was worry Cheryl may be reaching the end, so the incredible St Michaels hospice pulled out every stop and Cheryl and Shaun married that evening.

A few days later on the 1st of May Cheryl and Shaun celebrated their marriage with a blessing and then a gathering afterwards with their close family and friends, all of whom pulled out every stop they could to make this celebration happen.

On the 10th of May 2022 with her parents and husband by her side Cheryl passed away peacefully at St Michaels hospice in Basingstoke.

St Michaels hospice took incredible care of Cheryl, they did everything they could for her every single step of the way. They also were as accommodating as they possibly could be for anyone visiting her. including letting her dog Maisie and her parents dog Cooper stay which helped Cheryls spirits and anyone else visiting too.

Cheryls funeral is on the 15th of June 2022, with only close family attending we understand that people would like to remember her. So we are raising money for St Michaels hospice in her name, in her memory.

I (Catherine Louise Titcomb) will be handling this, so if you have any questions feel free to message me on facebook.
