Water, the most essential element for life, is scarce and contaminated in Yemen.

Yemen; what once used to be a simple country with vibrant souls and astonishing cultures, has been replaced with heartbreak, pain, suffering, and cries that go by unheard. People eat tree leave pastes to help with hunger pains. Water, the most essential element for life, is scarce and contaminated. Yemen. A place that was once home to many, is slowly becoming a graveyard to all. Where are our brothers and sisters in humanity? Why do we hear about justice, yet not see it in Yemen? Why are many souls being sentenced to a long slow death? What was their crime?

Will you only feel for them if you’re put in their situation, or will you feel for them when it’s already too late? What will it take?

Famine, Contaminated Water and Low Immunity:

The COVID-19 outbreak in Yemen is posing a major threat to the low immunity population due to wide-spread famine and lack of access to clean water and decimated health facilities. Over 18 million Yemenis do not have access to clean water, 7 million are on the brink of famine, and 2 million children are severely malnourished.

Who are we and what is our aim?

Food4Humanity is one of Yemen’s first women-led humanitarian organisation founded in 2015 by the Yemeni humanitarian activist Muna Luqman. It is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation aimed at alleviating poverty. Food4Humanity’s volunteers work on the ground and target remote parts of the country that are most affected by famine and lack of humanitarian needs.

They have successfully provided aid to over 80,000 Yemenis. Their programs and campaigns, aimed at increasing COVID-19 awareness and other vital assistance have benefited another 30,000 Yemenis. Food4Humanity has built and restored water stations and implemented water and sanitation programs in various areas in Yemen.

Aim of this fundraising project:

To provide access to healthy and safe water, adequate sanitation, and improved hygiene and food parcels to vulnerable families in Yemen.

How can YOU make an impact?

With your kind donations and support, Food4Humanity is aiming to raise £15,000 to establish one water station in Yemen. The water station will benefit over 5,000 families.

Donations exceeding the £15,000 target will be valuably put to use by providing food parcels to Yemeni families. Each food parcel costs approximately £40 (or $50) and will benefit a Yemeni family (average of 5 people) for one month.

Yemen is desperately crying out for help, it needs you now more than ever. Let’s not turn a blind eye and silence them.
