Story
We are Llwyngwyddel Farm Animal Sanctuary in Pembrokeshire. 7 weeks ago Indie came into our care having collapsed in a field, unable to eat, drink or stand. He was severely malnourised and it was feared that he would not make the night. However, we sat with Indie day and night, hand feeding him and encouraging him to drink. We moisturised his scaly skin and helped him stand, giving him physio to his legs. Vets ran blood tests etc and it was found that despite needing worming he was just so weak due to the malnourishment. Since then Indie has gotten stronger and stronger, we are currently nursing him in our conservatory. Sadly, Indie has severe muscle wastage, especially to his back legs. In order to aid his rehabilitation and continued physiotherapy, we are in the process of having a specially designed wheelchair for him which will support his back legs. However, this means that the current field shelter isn't going to be big enough to accommodate Indies wheels aswell as the other alpacas that we are so desperate for him to begin mixing with. We are therefore asking for donations to help us purchase a bigger field shelter that will accommodate Indie in his wheelchair but also allow him an area to rest away from the other alpacas but to still be in view of his pack freinds.
