Story

In loving memory of Danny McCormack

As you will all know, Danny McCormack a much loved son, brother, uncle and friend sadly passed away suddenly on Friday 29th March 2024, at the young age of 49.

Danny, was a dedicated runner and sportsperson who represented England and will be forever remembered for his passion for sport (and other fun and games!)

I love running in places like this and at this time of year, as everything begins to flower. I set off out for an 8 mile run over the very hilly Peaks. This is where I am at home! On the hills, mud and trails - I skip across the countryside taking in the glorious views of the Peak District." [Danny McCormack, May 2017]

To honour Danny's dedication to running, we've set up this JustGiving page to raise money to set up a grant fund in Danny's name that will support young local runners through the Talented Athlete Grant Scheme. This fund will be coordinated between Danny’s family , Beactivebeds and through the Luton Sport and Physical Activity Network, which supports local athletes.

This grant fund will help young runners achieve their full potential and athletic dreams, something Danny would have wholeheartedly championed.

Donate and share this page to celebrate Danny's life and passion for sport. Every donation, big or small, will help keep Danny's spirit alive in the sporting community, and for his family and friends.
