    Story

On 14th February, Calvin Middleton passed into eternity. He was sixteen years old and someone that we were proud to know. He had spent the day worshipping in Church, he enjoyed a normal Sabbath lunch in the middle of the day and slept with his father on a sofa in the afternoon. At the evening service, he listened through the whole sermon and sang the Psalms, in the last prayer he gave his father a cuddle and said he needed to go to the toilet as he had a migraine and might be sick. He collapsed in the toilet and never regained consciousness after a bleed in the brain. He died a few hours later in Salford Royal hospital. We don’t want him remembered with flowers or gifts, we would love you to put any donations, gifts of sympathy to a useful cause - the church which he attended all his life. If you give here, then all donations will be sent to the Presbyterian church (we meet at the Methodist church in cheadle) and to support its work with schools and hospital in Zimbabwe - the receipt for this will be posted here.

I have attached the receipt (as promised) now that all the £16k has been sent to the general treasurer. I have been in email contact with those involved in the school in Zimbabwe. Some of the money will go to funding furniture in the primary school and hope some other sums will be specifically directed to supporting students in their studies in maths and computing. We are working out the details - but I wanted you all to know the deep gratitude we feel as a family to all who have supported us at this very difficult time.

JustGiving don’t charge for the site but, they do charge.a processing fee on transactions of 2.9% + 25p per donation. This means from this page they have sent me 14583.36. As I already mentioned The Dingle sent me 376.10. The funeral collection was 63. There were gifts for 60, 20, 500 and 300. The result is that it has raised 15902.46 which I will round up to exactly £16k which I will send to the Church treasurer into the charity account from where it will go to Zimbabwe etc. - I will post the receipt when I have it.

I am going to close this tonight and post the receipt when I have it. I want to express our gratitude to all the schools we are associated with - but on this occasion just make a special note the kindness of The Dingle Primary School. The staff that taught him all attended the funeral and they have just sent a cheque for £376-10 which they have raised for this fund. It is fitting because I hope some of the money will fund primary furniture in Zimbabwe. Thank you A and J

May God be with you all as you come to terms with life without Cameron. After South Africa we had a chance meeting at Sunderland Air show and we remember our kids played together. X

With God in his eternal peace. He was an amazing, kind, generous young man who deeply loved his parents, sisters, grandparents, uncles and aunties - all of his family. The pain is indescribable.

Calvin was the most outstanding, Godly young man and so strongly loved. May God be with you and may He give you strength and encouragement.
