Story

On Monday 25th July 2022 we sadly lost Pamela Bell. Beloved wife to Tony, much loved mother to Lisa and Anthony, wonderful Nana adored by her three grandchildren, Olivia (6), Jake (3) and Ari (4 months), and devoted sister to Jimmy, Carol, Mark and her late sister Susan. Those who knew Pam will remember her as a kind, caring, fun-loving and selfless woman.

Pamela was first diagnosed with cancer in October 2020 and sadly in late 2021 it was confirmed that the cancer had returned. Pam received weekly chemotherapy at the North Tyneside hospital from January 2022 with the hopes of prolonging our time together. This precious time enabled Pam to achieve two of her wishes, to see her youngest grandson be born and to enjoy a pre-planned holiday in May with close family. The past few weeks with Pam have been incredibly tough and the only comfort in her passing is to know she is at peace and no longer in pain.

We are grateful for all the support and care Pamela received from the staff at North Tyneside Hospital Palliative Care Ward towards the end of her life. We would like to raise a donation in Pam’s memory to be shared with the Palliative Care Ward. In addition, we would also like to split any donations with CHUF (Children’s Heart Unit Fund, based at the Freeman Hospital) in recognition of the wonderful support and treatment Pam received after being diagnosed with congenital heart disease when she was 50 years old.

Whilst we have set an indicative goal of £250 in charitable donations to raise in Pamela’s memory, we would be grateful of any amount, no matter how small in these challenging times. Thank you for your ongoing love and support.
