I've raised £2000 to The Epilepsy Society & Mission EmployAble

Spencer had his first seizure at 16 months old and was diagnosed with epilepsy not long after. He spent the following ten years, in and out of hospital, with multiple stays in intensive care. Due to the Ketogenic Diet (for intractable epilepsy) and cannabidiol, the last eight years were more stable; however, even though he tried every anti-convulsant drug available, he never became seizure free.
Despite this, Spencer never complained. He occasionally said "I don't like my seizures", but he lived his best life, giving everything he did, 100% (laughing, teasing, burping, singing or closing car doors!) - and in living his life as best he could, he enriched so many other lives.
He was taken from us far too soon and we would like to do what we can to improve the lives of other young people with epilepsy and learning difficulties. In memory of Spencer, we are raising money for two charities important to him and his family.
The Epilepsy Society which funds research into treatments of severe childhood epilepsy. Spencer himself was part of a trial which has led to the development of the drug, Epidiolex (cannabidiol). He also experienced significant benefit from the Ketogenic Diet which evolved through years of research.
The second is Mission Employable, which is a new charity that works to train and then support young people with learning difficulties into paid employment. This is something that is valuable for young people who otherwise struggle to reach their potential, and something we only wished Spencer could have experienced.
Please give what you can in his memory. Thank you.
