Innovations Dance Platform returns to Edinburgh this August for a week long platform of exciting contemporary dance works. Based on our success at EdFringe 2018, Dance Horizons is proud to present 8 fresh contemporary dance works by independent UK and International choreographers and companies.

The Fringe has always been a space for artists to be both discovered, and discover themselves through a fulfulling experience of performing and immersion within their art form with fellow artists.

This year we present the works by: Fiona Houez - Labelled Dance Theatre - Christina Dionysopoulou - Kate Jackson & Collaborators- Abian Hernandez - Peter Twyman - Fuelled Dance Theatre - Unearthed Dance Company

Innovations provides the space for artists to present their ideas to audiences, however the usual funding sources for the arts are yet to recognise the importance of independent dance platforms. Dance Horizons prides itself on being as resourceful and self sufficient as possible. However, the costs of putting on a Fringe show in 2019 is no easy feat. We are appealing for support towards a portion of our venue hire costs. Your donation towards the event will help ensure that Innovations continues to provide such valuable opportunities to artists to express, explore and develop. Innovations was created with the ambition of championing creative innovation within the field of contemporary dance. Opening doors for dance artists and companies at all stages in their career to reach out and present their work to new audiences.

​A diverse range of artists have been part of Innovations events since its creation in 2014. Innovations has held platforms in the cities of Chester and Edinburgh. In 2018 the platform opened its first Edinburgh Fringe Festival event giving artists the opportunity to present their work in the heart of the biggest cultural and arts festival on the planet, which is now scheduled as an annual platform due to its success.
