I've raised £300 to help us expand our company and to create meaningful theatre with more elaborate props, costumes and stage designs.

Hello and welcome to 'In The Quirks' crowdfunding page.
Allow me to introduce ourselves
We are 6 buddies who graduated at St Mary's University in London 2 years ago with our physical theatre degrees and a drive to continue making shows together. 'In The Quirks', our young fresh company, was formed in 2016. We pride ourselves on being a diverse cast from different backgrounds and ethnicity's, we want to celebrate that diversity and young talent to give the industry a taste of eclectic skill. Our first show 'The Missing Girl of Grigglewood' started as a term project but it has grown into much more. We are all hugely passionate about this show and we enjoy tweaking and adding to it like an ever evolving tapestry.
So far we have visited London, Salisbury and Edinburgh where the support has been incredibly humbling. It started at the International Youth Arts Festival in Kingston in a tiny room with audience members cramped on a small stage area, people welcomed our style of comedy and we were awarded The Volunteers Choice.
Then off to Scotland where our show evolved and we formed an even stronger bond that is essential for a touring physical theatre company. There are some things that are impossible to share without loving each other and an intense month sleeping in the same bedroom as your 5 best mates, performing the same show each night is one of them.
We were so grateful for the audience feedback and how fringe goers appreciated our hard work. We could be seen promoting the show and ourselves everyday in costume, singing and acting on the streets of Edinburgh. We received 4 stars from Fringe Guru and even had sell out performances which just shows how commitment pays off.
Now we are home and in rehearsals, adapting 'The Missing Girl of Grigglewood' for our upcoming performances on the 13th and 14th of July at The Rose Theatre in Kingston. We are super excited and honored to be asked back to be a part of the 10 year anniversary of International Youth Arts Festival
So where do I come in?
So now you know how important it is for our group to continue making theatre together, it's time to explain why crowdfunding would change the game completely.
As we don't have funding, producers, promoters, directors, designers and technicians we literally do everything between us. It's something we like to do and have worked as a team to produce costumes, props, set pieces, lighting designs and marketing material.
Other things we might have to afford are entry fees to fringe festivals and most performance places. Edinburgh is a great prestigious festival and as we all know is a costly one, however as a new company we pulled together and had a brilliant response from our audiences! It's this kind of passion that sets us apart, we are so determined and we all put a lot of our time, money and effort into our company.
Just like the rest of the world we have jobs and bills to pay not forgetting families and other commitments. One of the hardest parts can be affording time off work to rehearse whilst managing to fund a increasingly expense theatre company . Of course the dream one day would be that theatre will eventually be our sole income but for the time being we try to balance life in one hand.
Any donations no matter how small would help us a great deal to develop our show and take it to as many places as possible, including oversea festivals. We want the world to laugh with us and enjoy our show as much as we enjoyed making it. We are still making changes each time we perform, keeping it fresh and keeping us on our toes.
With your support we hope to expand the company and would love to make a brand new show with more extravagant imagery and costumes. We will of course continue to be resourceful and make things ourselves but donations would absolutely help with the cost of materials. What ever happens 'In The Quirks' will power on through, but any help will be greatly received and most appreciated. Going forward we strive to create meaningful theatre, giving younger people the opportunity to showcase their ability within the creative arts, we hope to see you along our journey.
