Story
Intoart is an arts charity based in Peckham, South London working with people with learning disabilities. The charity moved into their new studio space in Peckham Levels in January 2018.
Since 2000, Intoart has been working with adults with learning disabilities, physical and sensory impairments and those on the Autistic Spectrum to meet the need of the lack of opportunities for high quality arts education. The studio programme runs every weekday and activity ranges from people making art for the first time through to artists developing ambitious bodies of artwork to exhibit as solo artists.
I have been a Trustee of Intoart for around 2 years and have managed to convince Henry to cycle the London to Brighton route with me, to help raise donations for a much required printing press for our new studio. Printing is a great way to make art as its accessible to all, an engaging creative process and a great way to develop new artworks.
Because of matched giving, Henry and I have separated our fundraising accounts; you can donate to either one - https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/Intoart-Cycle-2018 is Henry’s Justgiving page.
Intoart’s vision is for people with learning disabilities to be visible, equal and established artists. You can find more information on their website: https://intoart.org.uk/
Our cycle is on the 16th September 2018. Starting at Clapham Common, we will cycle 54 miles (around 4-6 hours) down to Brighton, cheered on by family and friends.
Please help us reach our target and make a real difference to the Artists. The printing press will be a fantastic asset to the studio and create many more opportunities for learning and art making.
Thank You !!
Catherine & Henry
