Story

The scale and intensity of the current global refugee crisis is unprecedented. The situations of war and terror faced by populations around the world have caused huge movement of people, displacing thousands and creating 25.4 million refugees. Whilst the Jungle in Calais has been closed, and the Dunkirk site burned to the ground, there are still around 1, 500 refugees and migrants in the forests of Northern France, including 200 unaccompanied children.

I am goin out to Calais for three weeks next month and will be volunteering with the charity Help Refugees. They are working to provide humanitarian aid to these people, with an emphasis on the children. Teaming up with Refugee Youth Service and L’Auberge des Migrants, Help Refugees is distributing goods, providing shelter and food, and working alongside refugees and migrants to provide aid where needed.

So much support is needed for these refugees, with the teams distributing around 1000 blankets and sleeping bags, and hundreds of hygiene and aid kits every week. I want to raise a little bit of money for the time I leave so that the charity can immediately react to urgent situations as they occur, and buy the necessary resources and provisions. You can also visit their online shop https://choose.love/ to directly buy the much-needed materials and goods for the refugees.

Thanks for ur time and effort, pls donate if poss!! A little bit goes SUCH a long way, as you can see on their shop- warm socks are only a fiver and can change so much for someone!!
