Story
We are Emma Louise -a Y10 Tutor Group at Five Islands Academy.
Our idea sprang from the Restorative Justice Ripple Effect training we all did in school last Summer -from the circle of equity we create as a group where everyone is seen and heard:
Wouldn't it be brilliant to give the young Syrian families who are resettling in Cornwall a holiday on the Isles of Scilly!
There's a long way to go to make our vision happen -lots to think about and prepare -but we're on our way and our Christmas fundraising is just the beginning!
We have linked with the 'Falmouth and Penryn Welcome Refugee Families' group and together we look forward to sharing happy times with Syrian families on our Islands very soon!

1 year agoA wild and windy Walk to Welcome...what an amazing achievement that pushed everyone out of their comfort zones - but such determination to walk for all the displaced children and young people fleeing their homes in our world today. Holding their hope - together with ours - for their safe and happy future. Thank you everyone, please keep giving!

1 year agoAt Five Island's Academy we're all set for next Wednesday's 'Walk to Welcome'! Our walk around the coast of St Mary's to raise more awareness and funds to support displaced young people, just like us, to enjoy a visit to the Isles of Scilly.
