    Title Remembrance Day. Schools Floral Display.

    The Royal Marines Association (RMA) on the Island are organising a Poppy Display on the Island. The poppies/flowers will be primarily constructed by local primary school children and displayed by Remembrance Sunday.

    It is hoped that an impressive display can be made, This is to mark the men and women who did not make it home from the wars.All the money collected on this Just-Giving page will go to the participating schools.

    If you name the school in the comments section the whole amount of your donation will go to that particular school.

    This is hoped will help school children on the Island and increase school finances.

      The Opening ceremony took place on Saturday 6 November 2021 at Quay Arts in Newport and will remain on display for the next couple of weeks. This impressive display of Poppies were made by local primary school children and others. In can be viewed from the comfort of the restaurant and you are most welcome to come along.

      The Poppies/Flower display to commemorate the fallen, will go on display from 3 November 2021 in Quay Arts Centre Newport for three weeks. The opening ceremony will be on the 6th November 2021 at 3pm at Quay Arts and local VIPs have been invited as well as all the children who made the Poppies/Flowers. The public can view this impressive display throughout the display period.

    I am the Secretary of The Royal Marines Association here on the Island. I served 22 Years in the Royal Marines. Before that, I left school at 15 and became a coal miner in the Rhondda Valleys. I know that a good education is paramount to our children. This will help them.
