I've raised £20000 to buy iPads for primary school children in Exeter, to ensure every child has digital connection to education resources

There are 26 primary schools in Exeter, with 8,645 primary school students. Of these students, there are 1,159 eligible for FSM.
During isolation or lock-down it is students in years five and six who miss out the most on more formal aspects of primary education (in preparation for proceeding to secondary school), which is most amenable to continued electronic delivery through electronic devices.
There are approximately 390 FSM students in years five and six with critical needs for electronic devices when being asked to isolate. Secondary school provision is good (but also coming under increased pressure as the winter progresses), but there is not enough devices for primary school children.
A need for approximately 50 -75 electronic devices has been identified to help these students and we estimate this would mean devices would be available for all primary children isolating in Exeter, except for under the circumstances of structural lock-down (where whole schools or all schools are again shut down).
The total cost for this will be approximately £30,000. We are delighted to have already raised £11,000 in donations offline.
The Ted Wragg Trust has agreed to administer the new bank of devices that would be available to all primary schools in Exeter.
As we move into winter the number of children suffering in isolation is already rising and so there is an urgent need to provide these devices.
