    Story

Invisible Pain Theatre Company is a community interest company that provides support and awareness for mental health issues. We meet regularly and provide drama workshops that build confidence, provide a support network and encourage social engagement as well as building skills and talent.

Mental health decline can have extreme and devastating effects, including isolation, alienation, and segregation from community and society being only a few of the by-products. IPTC aims to use drama and performance workshops to help tackle this issue within the community. We are based in Pudsey at the Robin Lane well-being centre but we want t expand to surrounding areas.

After two successful events our membership base has increased and we are now providing support for more and more people in the community. In order to keep our workshops running and our awareness events successful financial help is urgently needed. Ticket sales just about covered the cost of our last event but we are aiming to build up some seed money that we can rely on to help with travel costs/ material costs / venue / rehearsal space/ costume/props and all other costs that are incurred. The first two years of the company have been funded personally by the director and founder. With no further finance available at the moment we are putting an urgent call out for sponsors or donations of any amount so we can continue our work and look forward to our next Autumn event "Acting Crazy" A mental health musical.

I set up IPTC 2 years ago after enduring a mental health decline that i still live with today. Offering support, understanding and encouragement to those also in need has greatly improved my own coping strategies. I can intiate my love for theatre and performance and help others.
