Story
Support Ireland Korfball in the Dublin to Durban (D2D) Challenge and help the squad on their way to Worlds!
For the first time ever, Ireland have qualified for the World Korfball Championships in South Africa this August 2019. This is a massive achievement for the nation and an amazing opportunity for our players to represent on the international stage.
To raise funds for the trip, the squad have challenged themselves to run, cycle and/or swim over 9,000 kilometres in the Dublin to Durban (D2D) Challenge! The Challenge will begin on 19th May and the squad will have just 6 weeks to cover 9,930km between them – that’s 620km each! D2D will end on 30th June, following the Tri-Nations tournament in London.
Leaderboards will be published weekly throughout the Challenge so you can see how your players are doing and where we are in our journey!
All money raised from the Challenge will go towards funding the trip and getting the squad and staff to Worlds. The costs to enter such a tournament are significant and as Ireland Korfball is entirely player-funded, those participation costs fall entirely on the squad selected, expected to be over £32,000 for the entire trip.
Help us get one step closer on our journey to South Africa!
