Our lovely dad passed away at the Western General, Edinburgh on Saturday the 9th of October. He died after a short but incredibly brave and hard fought battle with Covid. The work the doctors and nurses do on a daily basis is nothing short of extraordinary, not just in how they look after very ill patients and treat them with dignity and respect, but also in how they support loved ones at the most horrific of times. So, in some small way, we want to repay their kindness, and offer them some support in return, by contributing to their welfare and wellbeing. We are working with the Charge Sister to ensure these funds are directed in the most appropriate and meaningful way.

In addition, we are looking into possibly contributing to the purchase of a sleeping chair or fold out bed, which families can use to get some rest whilst remaining at the bedside of their loved ones when they need it most.

Dad was an understated person, who would never have asked for or expected anything from anyone, but we feel sure this is something he would have appreciated and supported.
