Story
I am an additional support needs teacher in Midlothian. In July 2018 I am going to do a full ironman race - which involves completing a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike and a 26 mile run all within one day with no breaks!
My inspiration will be the pupils at Saltersgate. Especially the blue class who I have started working with this year. The class and many other pupils in the school could really benefit from the use of eye gaze technology every day. To have a look at the piece of equipment click on the link >>> http://www.inclusive.co.uk/all-in-one-eyegaze-education. The young people could use this piece of technology to communicate their thoughts, feelings, wants and needs and to learn in class every day.
Alongside this, buying specific equipment that could enhance the pupils' daily lives - such as switch holders and i-pad grips could be bought with any extra pennies!

6 years agoSo I completed the race in 11 hours 59 minutes and 15 seconds! I was the first British female to cross the line. I’ve recently qualified for a ‘good for age’ place at London Marathon next year so i’ll keep my page open for this race.
