Story
I contracted a horrifically painful infection 5 days post tonsillectomy (which I had to pay for in an nhs hospital I got no painkillers or antibiotics.) I was haemorrhaging into a bucket for 4 and a half hours, I lost over 3 litres of blood, hb was 8.3 (normal is 11-16). The hospital doctors would not let me have iron tablets let alone an infusion or blood transfusion. My GP also refused to help me, despite telling me I looked pale. I looked and felt terrible for months, my hair was falling out, my periods stopped, I was breathless for months, I was having heart problems, I kept getting colds. Almost 2 years on and I'm still not right. Nobody wants to help me. After paying so much for the surgery there's no way I can afford to go to a hospital in Cambridge which offers iron transfusions and is my only hope, but it costs £920. Please help if you can. This is where I need to go ; https://www.nuffieldhealth.com/hospitals/cambridge/the-iron-clinic
