Story

Hello, I’m Izzie😊

I will be running this year’s AJ Bell half marathon in Manchester on behalf of Bright Opportunities day and domiciliary care centre based in Buxton, in the Peak District. They are a not-for-profit, community based day care service for adults with learning disabilities and have been a tremendous help to my family over the last 6 years.

My father, Dennis was diagnosed with a pineal gland brain tumour in October 2003, at the age of 35. Due to the severity of the tumour, this resulted in a succession of operations between 2003 and 2006, causing him brain injury. Following this, my father had to re-learn how to walk, talk and basically function in everyday life.

There is a lack of services available to adults with illnesses like my Dad’s. Bright Opportunities provides a lifeline to families in our situation or similar. Seeing the positive changes Bright Opportunities has made to my Dad’s life, I want to raise as much money as I can to help improve their premises. The level of care they have provided is superior and the kindness of the carers is exemplary.

Please donate towards the cost of their new Music Room, if you are able to.

Your support is very much appreciated.
