Story
My name is Isla Urquhart and I am 6 years old. I was born in Tooting and would like to start 2023 by doing something to give back to my local community.
I am going to cycle to school and back (a daily return journey of 10km) in all weathers throughout the month of January to support Tooting Community Kitchen.
My target is to cover 100km in the month of January to raise £100
On the busy main roads I will be attached to my Dad or Mum's bike as they help me navigate the traffic, unhooking to cycle on the cycle paths and quieter roads of the ride, which includes some long steep hills which will be even more challenging in the cold and wet conditions.
(The days I can cycle to fundraise will be determined by the availability of both my parents - we will use our cargo bike to get my sister and I to school when only one parent is available for the school run)
#TCKpurpose
Our goal is to help alleviate poverty in South West London, by helping feed the homeless and those in need, and providing them with other vital resources.
We provide a biweekly stall serving hot food and essential produce and run a local foodbank which operates as a drop-in collection service. Our aim is to strengthen our presence within the community, as a general support network and hub for resources to assist our guests. We believe that everyone in our community deserves to feel cared for and valued without prejudice.
