in the summer of 2020, myself and a small group of pupils from my school are taking part in a 4 week expedition to Costa rica with outlook expeditions. during the expedition we will have the chance to work on 2 different projects, one in a small costa rican village and another with animals we will get to pick what the project will involve and exactly what we will do as part of a team. we also get the amazing experience of treking through the costa rican rainforest or a cloud forest for 3 days. i will learn valuable life skills when in costa rica, like how to look after myself, having to wash my own clothes, budget money to pay for meals, cooking my own food and also learning to cope without my luxuries that i take for granted like my IPhone and my twenty-million hair products. it will be a real culture shock for me out there, realising just how lucky i actually am compared to the families out there and just how much i take things for granted. i have always wanted to do something like this so am very excited that i have the opportunity. i don't think i will ever get the chance to do this again so knew i couldn't turn it down. it was a big family decision that we had to make, but one that i am very happy we did. the cost of the expedition is just over £4,000 which is a lot of money. over the next 18 months i am going to be fundraising the money with raffles and a few big events which i am currently planning. any donations made will he hugely appreciated and i thank you for your support.
