In 2019 I will be flying to Madagascar to do charitable work to benefit local communities, this work will include building schools in rural villages where there will otherwise be no way for the children to receive an education, establishing a fresh water supply or building housing for the vulnerable. I will also do volunteer work to protect the local wildlife such as re-planting trees in thinning forests, and building fences and huts to establish anti-poaching areas,. This work is extremely important as 80% of the animal and plant species there are unique to Madagascar and therefore should be protected as much as possible. I believe this trip will drastically boost my independence and confidence as well as enrich my knowledge of different cultures and humanitarian issues.
