I am raising money to provide a bursary for young people to access The Drop , the Music Works’ inclusive drop-in programme, because cost should never be a barrier for young people who want to make music.
By donating just £3 you can make sure that a young person doesn’t miss out on this opportunity.
The Drop provides a safe space where young people (age 10-18) can make music, develop their skills, get advice and work with others. The programme runs every Wednesday from the charity’s new facility, The Hub in Kings Square Gloucester. Previously, I was going to raise money to help fund the building of The Hub - Gloucestershire’s first dedicated and inclusive community music hub for children and young people. This goal has now been reached and the Hub is up and running. Designed by young people, for young people, it is a space to connect, collaborate and create with the chance to meet other like-minded creatives.
I’ve been lucky enough in my life journey to land a career doing what I love to do, music. But I would not have been able to get here without the support from youth clubs, studios and various other creative outlets I have had had access to along the way. However, recent years have provided barriers preventing young people from accessing music in the community and reaching their full potential, with less youth clubs and places for young people to explore their creativity.
This Charity Boxing Match is the perfect opportunity for me to give back and help raise funds to ensure young people cans have access to the same, if not better, help and support I was lucky to have and will transform the charities ability to support young people all over the city.
Please help me reach my fundraising goal of £500 and have a helping hand in ensuring no young person misses out on the opportunity to make music. Every £3 contributes to 1 young person not missing out.
Thank you!
